For the longest time, I have not been emailed a notification of a comment on my blog. So, if I want to know if someone has commented, I have to go through a song and dance.
I just got on AI and asked it to help me figure out what was wrong. It was very easy and, DUH, I should have thought ... comments were going to Spam folder.
They used to go to my email. Who, How, When and Why something changed - I have no idea.
Just a heads up. Check your spam if you are having notification problems.
